Current Knowledge

At first I was unsure about the purpose and the benefits of usng external codes such as API. However, I am now aware that it is beneficial as it allows commnication between different applications. I have good knowledge on where I could find APis and i-frames e.g. Google charts. The code is well written so that when different factors of the code are altered it would affect the outcome of that API or i-frame. Using them is time-effective because instead of creating things from the beginning you cold use the code for it from elsewhere.

Strengths

I can recognise the code which needs to be copied in order to gain the information. I have also altered various settings to see how it affects the outcome of the API or i-frame.

Weaknesses

I have only limited knowledge as to where I could get the API from, this will be a key focus to ensure I have enough resources which I could use to gain access to an API.

Lesson Ideas

Using Google Charts is quite beneficial as they are user friendly and the parameters can be altered easily to see how they affect the outcome. I would set the task of them to use the charts and then alter them to relate back to themselves. I would also use the i-frames such a google street view as it an application which majoirty of people are familiar with.
